The North Gwinnett Voice broke a story this morning about a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of the Quik Trip located at 927 Gainesville Highway in Buford, Georgia. At approximately 1:15 a.m. this morning, February 10, 2019, Hall County deputies responded to the call where they found a male with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim and a female companion had stopped at the convenience store. The suspect approached the victim who was the passenger of the vehicle that he and a female were in. The suspect pulls out a gun where he shot the victim multiple times. The female was not injured during the incident.
The suspect is known to the female and this is not believed to be a random act of violence.
The male victim was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The male suspect was later arrested at his home in Canton, Georgia, by Hall County Sheriff’s Office Investigators, with the assistance of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
The case remains under investigation by Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Names are not currently being released pending the ongoing investigation and next of kin notifications. Anyone with additional information on the incident is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
