SUWANEE — The victim in Sunday night’s murder on Chelsea Falls Lane in unincorporated Suwanee has been identified as 81-year-old Myung Kim.
Her killer has been identified as her 45-year-old son Otto Kim who resided with his mother in a home on Chelsea Falls Lane. He has charges of battery that date back to 2012. His ordered 100 hours of community service in conjunction with the 2012 battery charge were suspended due to mental health according to court records.
Police had responded to a call about a man intentionally running into oncoming traffic at approximately 8:17 p.m. on Sunday night. After making contact with the male, he told officers that he had killed his mother at their Suwanee home. Police found the mother at their home with severe cuts to her face and she was rushed to the hospital. The mother later died at the hospital.
Police said that this incident stems from a domestic dispute between mother and son from earlier in the evening.
Otto Kim was taken into custody and has been charged with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Battery, and Aggravated Assault. He remains in custody at the Gwinnett County Jail.
