Buford 68 Rabun Gap 16
BUFORD — The Buford girls varsity basketball team had a long winter break playing their last game of 2020 on Dec. 1. They did not return to action until Jan. 6, 2021, when they hosted Stephens County at the Buford Arena. The Lady Wolves looked like they never saw such a long break with a convincing win over Stephens County 79-47.
Buford returned to the court at the Arena on Wednesday night where thirteen Buford players scored in the lopsided win over Rabun Gap. Leading the scoring for the Lady Wolves were seniors Sara Viti and Andie Blake with nine points each. Sophomore Kirby Wallis contributed eight points.
Buford will be back in action on Friday night at Central Gwinnett. Game starts at 6:30 p.m.
Varsity Boys Basketball
Buford 88 Rabun Gap 80
BUFORD — The Buford boys varsity basketball team hosted Rabun Gap at the Buford Arena on Wednesday night just edging them out 88-80.
Jaylon Taylor led the Wolves’ offense with 23 points while Alahn Sumler scored 22 points. Also contributing to Buford’s win were London Williams with 19 points, eight rebounds; Caleb Blackwell with 11 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and Marc Mauge scored 11 points.
Buford travels to Central Gwinnett on Friday. Game time is 8 p.m.
