The Gwinnett County Police Department closed a section of Hamilton Mill Road in Buford on Friday morning, Jan. 6, to perform an accident investigation for a wreck involving a Gwinnett County Public School System bus and a white pickup truck.
The accident occurred about 7 a.m. near Bart Johnson Road on Hamilton Mill Road and forced police to close the roadway until approximately 11 a.m. to allow for the accident investigation.
According to police, there were no children on the school bus at the time of the accident. Those involved in the wreck were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions have not been released.
Gwinnett County Public Schools returned to class from winter break Thursday, Jan. 5.
Few details are being released by the police regarding the wreck at this time. Updates will be provided as they become available.
