As temperatures continue to drop — with an expected low of under 35 degrees tonight, Dec. 18 — Gwinnett County is taking measures to protect some of its most vulnerable citizens.
From 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Dec. 18 and Dec. 19, the County will open the doors of their five warming stations for individuals or families in need.
In a Gwinnett County Government Facebook post, they announced:
“If you or someone you know is in need of warmth, rest, and a meal, please find a station near you. For more details, go to GwinnettCounty.com/Warming Stations or call 770-822-8850.”
The stations will continue to provide temporary. overnight relief on nights when temperatures plummet to 35 degrees or below throughout the cold weather season.
Visitors to the sites will also receive a meal, while getting the opportunity to rest and find relief from the cold.
